London City Airport Welcomes Austrian Airlines to Vienna
Commencing 29 October 2007, Austrian Airlines will commence a twice-daily flight to the Austrian capital of Vienna from London’s favourite airport. This new route will add to the 30 existing European destinations that can be reached from London City Airport.
The new service will be operated on a Fokker 70 from London City Airport at 1025 and 2000 Monday to Friday.
Commenting on the new route, Richard Gooding OBE, Chief Executive of London City Airport said, “We welcome Austrian Airlines, a Star Alliance member, to our growing network of popular European destinations. Vienna is one of the farthest routes that can be reached from our Docklands hub and provides an ideal gateway to Eastern Europe and beyond”.
London City Airport is the most central airport in London, located only 22 minutes from Bank station with a regular seven-minute frequency on the Docklands Light Railway. The airport, celebrating its 20th anniversary, has seen substantial growth in recent years due to its convenient location and fast check-in times. Austrian Airlines will be the 11th airline to operate from London City Airport in its winter schedule.
