British Airways is to launch two new ski routes and increase frequency on existing popular services from London City Airport.
From December 15, passengers will be able to take advantage of two new winter snow destinations, Geneva and Lyon, direct from the Docklands airport.
This will bring the total number of destinations offered by British Airways from London City Airport to 12.
In October the airline is increasing its daily frequency to Glasgow from four to five flights a day. With the new 0650 departure from London City and the return service from Glasgow at 2010, this now enables a full business day in the Scottish city. In addition to this Frankfurt services will increase from three to four flights a day.
This follows increased frequency to Edinburgh and Nice from London City Airport introduced last week.
Luke Hayhoe, commercial manager with BA CityFlyer, the wholly owned British Airways subsidiary airline which operates flights from London City Airport, said: “We are responding directly to a growing demand from our customers for winter only ski flights from London City and are delighted to offer two of the most popular destinations.
“In addition we have also responded to our business customers and introduced additional flights on key business routes. Passengers flying to Glasgow particularly will now be able to spend a full business day in the city and return home at night.”
Richard Gooding OBE, Chief Executive of London City Airport said: “These new routes further strengthen British Airways’ network out of London City Airport. We continue to be a popular choice for time-pressed travellers travelling to winter ski destinations due to our close proximity to the heart of London. The further increase in flights to existing destinations offers a wider choice to business passengers, during the busy winter period.”
Fully inclusive one-way fares to Geneva and Lyon start at £65 and are available to book on www.ba.com
