London City Airport welcomes the decision of the Development Control Committee of the London Borough of Newham on 8th July to approve the application to allow the airport to accommodate up to 120,000 flight movements per annum.
This decision recognises the airport's importance in the community, its significant contribution to the local economy and the regeneration and investment that the airport has attracted to East London.

The airport continues to be a part of, rather than just in, the community, and it has been vital in bringing economic success to Newham through employment and inward investment
