London City Airport received the Gold Award for Top UK Airport, voted by Wanderlust magazine’s readers, for the fifth year running. The award, presented by the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Lyn Hughes at the Destinations Travel Show in London on 4 February 2010, recognises the airport’s continued commitment to customer service and its convenient location only a short distance from the centre of London. London City Airport, along with Singapore Changi Airport, were shortlisted for the award from a total 556 nominated airports across the world.
Richard Gooding OBE, Chief Executive of London City Airport commented; “We are delighted to have won this prestigious award again and are pleased that Wanderlust readers continue to vote London City as the best UK airport.”
In a move to further improve passenger comfort, London City Airport has commenced a seven million pound reconfiguration of its terminal with a priority to add additional security lanes and expand the departure lounge.
