London City Airport’s Travel Training Mania

London City Airport’s on-line training modules launched just two weeks ago, have proved an instant success with the travel agent community. The LCY Academy has attracted hundreds of agents, downloading their certificate and claiming their reward – valid for the first 200 successful passes; a completion rate that surpasses similar on-line courses.

The curriculum is delivered over 5 modules covering airport access, facilities, route network, operating airlines, and has interactive maps, plus a video of the £7m terminal refurbishment, due for completion by February 2011. With the 2012 Olympics fast approaching, London City Airport is becoming a focus for London with its location just 3 miles from the, Queen Elizabeth Olympic park and the new Westfield retail mall-Stratford City.

Tricia Handley, Marketing Communications Director for London City Airport commented: “We are thrilled to be the first UK airport to launch this programme and equally thrilled by the immediate response and enthusiasm received from the business travel community.  The 5 modules, are an excellent tool for us to educate, inform and communicate with those unfamiliar with our unique selling points.”

To complete the London City Airport certification visit www.lcyacademy.com, all participants will be entered into a free bi-monthly prize draw for two return tickets to selected London City Airport destinations.
