London City Airport wins 'Social Media' award
London City Airport wins 'Social Media' award at the Business Travel Magazine's inaugural People Awards which recognises excellence in business travel.
On Thursday 24 May, London City Airport achieved this accolade in recognition of its unique use of social media to deliver leading on-line communications. Social Media is an essential tool for the Airport, being used to provide customer feedback, progressive updates and quick solutions. London City Airport recognises that communication has spread across many media channels and aims to provide an efficient service ensuring that all its passengers are kept up-to-date.
Since 2010, the Ecommerce team has continuously and successfully built an online following, which currently boasts a total of 16,296 social followers. Recent surveys conducted by EQ2, in Q4 of 2011 also indicated an impressive increase of 19.62% twitter followers making this channel a key part of the Airport's online passenger communication strategy.
