New bag tag technology on BA LCY-JFK service

05/09/2012
British Airways has introduced a new self-bag tagging option for passengers travelling to New York from London City Airport. The Airport is the second on British Airways global network to offer this innovative self-help facility.

Passengers simply print and attach tags to their own baggage at a self-service kiosk and deposit them at a bag drop desk. The new process, combined with the option to check-in on line and print boarding passes at home or the office, eases congestion on the airport concourse, particularly at peak times.

The IT strategy at London City follows the ‘Fast Travel’ initiative, which is part of the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA).
