Today, the Evening Standard becomes the exclusive media partner of London City Airport as part of a partnership deal signed between both organisations. The Partnership covers the areas of newspaper distribution and joint promotions.
London City Airport and the Evening Standard are launching a dual branded Eros card, which will give cardholders a range of exclusive discounts on air fares and on purchases at retail outlets, bars, and restaurants at the airport.
The opening offers on the card include 15 percent discounts on all BA non-UK bound flights (excluding Amsterdam) from London City Airport and 20 percent discounts on Austrian airlines flights to Vienna, Bangkok and Tokyo from the Docklands airport. A rolling programme of flight offers will be available.
The Eros London City Airport card is a simple and convenient way to purchase the Evening Standard. The London City Airport card will provide all the convenience, discounts and exclusive rewards of the existing Eros Cards. The card is available on a direct debit basis for £3 per month.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Evening Standard will be the only London newspaper to have branding across the airport in both the check-in and departure lounge areas. The Evening Standard will be unveiling new digital screens across the airport which will carry key messages about the Evening Standard and its passion for London.
As part of the deal, the Evening Standard will also be distributing copies of the paper free to incoming passengers to London, as part of a sampling campaign with London City Airport commuters.
London City Airport has this week unveiled additional facilities within the airport. The airport’s departure lounge has being reconfigured to incorporate some 250 additional passenger seats, an enhanced retail offering with WH Smith and Nuance, and a new lounge featuring high-speed internet points and live sports screens. Complimentary wireless internet access will be available for all passengers. To complete the airside experience, the airport’s new concept bar is scheduled to open at the end of May.
