London City Airport’s social media activity surged over the last 7 days of weather disruptions. The Airport’s twitter account is now followed by 5587 passengers, an increase of 22%, with over 650 friends on Facebook.
The Airport is using social media to communicate to anxious passengers by regularly updating them on weather, flight delay and cancellation information. With over 150 tweets per day, the Airport’s team are responding immediately to all queries. Grateful passengers continue to follow the Airport’s reports which are communicated faster and more effectively than other traditional methods.
The Airport’s website hits also saw an increase of 4,000 visits per day during this past week.
