Extra Flights Take Off From London City

27/03/2014
British Airways starts the summer season from London City this weekend with new routes to Florence in Italy and Rotterdam in Holland taking off from the Docklands airport.

There will also be extra daily flights to Amsterdam, Edinburgh and Zurich.

The two new routes and extra frequency strengthens British Airways’ position as the largest airline at London City Airport.

Three new Embraer aircraft will be delivered this year and from the start of the summer schedule on Sunday (March 30) the airline will fly to 26 international, European and UK destinations from London City.

The expansion of the airline’s London City network includes five-a-day services to Rotterdam, four-a-week services to Florence, extra frequency on important European routes as well as the introduction of an Embraer jet on the Dusseldorf route, replacing the current Saab turboprop.

Customers have a quick and easy journey through London City Airport, with hand baggage it takes just 15 minutes to get from kerbside to airside. One way all inclusive hand baggage only fares to Florence and Rotterdam available from £67 on ba.com/londoncity

All British Airways fares include a generous free hand baggage allowance, free seat selection and on line check-in 24 hours before departure, complimentary refreshments and drinks and no debit card charges.

Luke Hayhoe, British Airways general manager commercial at London City, said: “At the start of the summer we will be offering our best ever choice of destinations from London City Airport for both business and leisure customers.”

Editors note

The first of two new 98-seat aircraft will join the fleet in May and when the third aircraft arrives later this year there will be 17 aircraft in total, a mix of Embraer 170 and 190 jets.
