Wednesday 8 (approx. 18:30) - Thursday 9 July (21:30): Proposed strike action is likely to cause severe disruption on London Underground services. Docklands Light Railway (DLR) services will not be affected and London City Airport station will be open. London Overground and TfL rail services are also set to run as per usual but are likely to be busier than normal. All passengers are advised to check their journey before they travel and allow additional time to get to their destination. For more information please click here.
Declan Collier, CEO of London City Airport said:
“The latest statistics from the CAA show that London City Airport has been the most punctual of all UK airports for the last two years running. In addition, we also have the shortest average delay in the country, at just six minutes compared to an average of nine minutes. It’s a fantastic achievement and a testament to the extensive work we do to ensure that our turnaround process is industry-leading.
“Some two thirds of LCY passengers are business travellers and time is of utmost importance to them. At LCY you can go from the door of the terminal to your departure gate in 20 minutes and, on arrival, from tarmac to train in just 15 minutes. The airport’s location will also save you time – it is the only airport actually in London, with the Docklands Light Railway providing easy access to Canary Wharf, the City of London and Westminster, all in under 25 minutes.
“Every minute saved travelling can be put to better use in the office or at your meeting or conference, or having more free time to spend with your loved ones. That’s what makes LCY unique and keeps passengers coming back month after month, week after week and, in many cases, day after day.”
Flights operate from London City Airport to more than 40 to business and leisure destinations across Europe, in addition to a twice-daily all-business class New York service.
